Percentage to CGPA Calculator

Using the CBSE formula in reverse: CGPA = Percentage / 9.5. For example, 80% = 80/9.5 = 8.42 CGPA. Note this is approximate — the original CGPA × 9.5 formula is an approximation itself.

Older Indian marksheets used percentage marks. When applying to institutions that require CGPA, or when comparing your marks with students on CGPA systems, this conversion is needed.

No single standard exists. Different universities use different formulas. The CBSE method (divide by 9.5) is most common. Always check if the institution you're applying to has a preferred conversion method.
