Privacy Policy

Your calculations stay on your device. Here is exactly what we collect, what we don't, and how to opt out.

Last updated:

The short version

The numbers you type into our calculators never leave your device. Every calculator runs entirely in your browser — there is no server that receives your salary, your loan balance, your weight, or your due date.

We do collect anonymous usage analytics about which pages get visited, so we know which calculators to improve. You can turn that off — see our Cookie Policy.

This policy explains, in plain language, what OmniCalculator collects, why, and what control you have. It applies to www.omnicalculator.app and all calculator pages on it.

What we don't collect

We want to be specific about this, because it is the most important part of the policy. We do not collect, transmit, or store:

  • Any value you enter into a calculator — income, loan amounts, interest rates, weight, height, age, dates, grades, or anything else.
  • Any calculator result we show you.
  • Your name, postal address, or phone number.
  • Account credentials — there are no accounts, and no sign-up.
  • Payment details — the site is free and takes no payments.

Calculator inputs are processed by JavaScript running on your own device. They are held in your browser's memory while you use the page and are discarded when you close or reload it. There is no API call that sends them anywhere.

What we do collect

Analytics and usage data

Like most websites, we use third-party analytics to understand traffic patterns. These tools collect technical and behavioural information automatically:

  • Pages viewed, referring page, and time spent on the site.
  • Approximate location derived from your IP address — typically country or city level, not a precise position.
  • Device and browser type, screen size, operating system, and language.
  • Interaction data such as clicks, scroll depth, and mouse movement, used to build aggregated heatmaps and session replays.

Session replay reconstructs how a page was used — where the cursor moved, what was clicked, how far it scrolled. Our replay provider masks text input by default, so the numbers you type into calculators are not captured in replays.

Data stored on your own device

A small amount of information is saved in your browser's local storage so the site behaves sensibly between visits. It stays on your device and is never sent to us:

KeyWhat it storesWhy
omni-recentThe slugs of the last 6 calculators you openedPowers the "Recently used" row on the homepage
themeYour light / dark / system preferenceKeeps the site from flashing the wrong theme on load

You can clear both at any time by clearing site data in your browser. The “Recently used” row also has its own clear button.

Third-party services we use

We rely on a small number of providers. Each has its own privacy policy governing how it handles the data it receives:

ServiceWhat it doesPrivacy policy
Google AnalyticsAggregated traffic and page-view statisticspolicies.google.com/privacy
Microsoft ClarityHeatmaps and session replay, with input text maskedprivacy.microsoft.com
VercelHosting and page-performance metricsvercel.com/legal/privacy-policy

Our host also keeps standard server logs — IP address, request time, and requested URL — for security and reliability. These are ordinary web-server records, not calculator data.

Why we process this data

We use the limited data we collect only to:

  • Understand which calculators people actually use, so we can improve them and build new ones.
  • Find and fix broken layouts, slow pages, and confusing interfaces.
  • Keep the site available and protect it from abuse.

Where privacy law requires a legal basis for processing (for example the GDPR in the EU and UK), we rely on your consent for analytics cookies, and on our legitimate interest in operating a secure, functioning website for server logs.

We do not sell your data, and we do not share it with advertisers or data brokers.

Your rights and choices

Because we do not hold accounts or personal profiles, there is usually nothing of yours for us to look up. You can still exercise control directly:

  • Opt out of analytics. Block cookies for this site, use your browser's tracking protection, enable Do Not Track, or install the Google Analytics opt-out add-on. The calculators keep working either way.
  • Clear local data. Clearing site data in your browser removes your recently-used list and theme preference.
  • Access, correction, deletion, or portability. If you are in a region with these rights (the EU, UK, California, and others), email us and we will help with anything we hold that can be tied to you.

Under the CCPA, we do not “sell” or “share” personal information as those terms are defined, and we do not offer financial incentives in exchange for data.

Where data goes and how long it stays

Our providers operate globally, so analytics data may be processed on servers outside your country, including in the United States. Those providers use standard contractual clauses and similar safeguards for international transfers.

Analytics data is retained according to each provider's default retention settings — typically between 2 and 26 months — after which it is deleted or aggregated. Server logs are kept for a short period for security purposes. Data stored in your browser stays until you clear it.

Children's privacy

OmniCalculator is a general-purpose tool and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us and we will delete it.

Security

The site is served over HTTPS, and because calculator inputs never leave your device, there is no database of your figures to breach. No method of transmission over the internet is completely secure, but keeping data on your device is the strongest protection we can offer.

Changes to this policy

If we add a feature that changes what we collect — an account system, advertising, or a new analytics provider — we will update this page and change the “Last updated” date at the top. Significant changes will be flagged on the site itself.
