VTU CGPA to Percentage Calculator

The commonly used formula is CGPA × 9.5 for a 10-point scale. Some VTU students also use the direct proportional method: (CGPA/10) × 100. Check with your specific department for the preferred formula.

VTU uses a 10-point scale with letter grades: S (10), A (9), B (8), C (7), D (6), E (5), and F (0 - fail). The CGPA is the weighted average of all semester grade points.

At VTU, a CGPA of 7.5 or above (approximately 71%) is generally considered First Class with Distinction. First Class requires 6.0+ (57%), and Second Class requires 5.0+ (47.5%).
