Baby Sleep Calculator

Newborns (0-3 months): 14-17 hours. Infants (4-11 months): 12-15 hours. Toddlers (1-2 years): 11-14 hours. Preschool (3-5 years): 10-13 hours. These include naps. Nighttime sleep is typically 10-12 hours.

Most babies do well with a 6:30-7:30 PM bedtime. Earlier (6:00-6:30 PM) if naps were poor or short. Later bedtimes don't necessarily mean later wake-ups — overtired babies often wake MORE at night and earlier in the morning.

Most children transition: 3 naps → 2 around 6-9 months, 2 → 1 around 12-18 months, 1 → 0 around age 3-4. Signs of readiness: consistently not falling asleep at naptime, nighttime sleep is disrupted by naps.
