First trimester: weeks 1-12 (conception through 3 months). Second trimester: weeks 13-27 (months 4-6). Third trimester: weeks 28-40 (months 7-9, until delivery).

First: organs form, morning sickness is common. Second: baby grows rapidly, movement is felt, often called the 'honeymoon trimester' as symptoms ease. Third: baby gains weight, preparing for birth, increased discomfort for mother.
