Divide the sale price by (1 - discount/100). If an item is $70 after 30% off: $70 / 0.70 = $100 original price.

It depends on the price. For items under $75, $15 off is better. For items over $75, 20% off saves more. At exactly $75, they're equal ($75 × 0.20 = $15).
