Ovulation Gender Predictor

The Shettles method suggests that intercourse closer to ovulation favors boys (Y-sperm are faster but die sooner) while intercourse 2-4 days before favors girls (X-sperm are slower but live longer). However, scientific evidence does not strongly support this theory.

Not reliably accurate. Multiple scientific studies have found no significant correlation between timing of intercourse and baby gender. The probability is effectively 50/50 regardless of timing. Only medical interventions (like IVF with PGT) can reliably select gender.

The baby's biological sex is determined by the sperm cell that fertilizes the egg. Sperm carrying a Y chromosome produce a male, and sperm carrying an X chromosome produce a female. This is effectively random with each fertilization event.
