College GPA Calculator

Multiply each course's grade points by its credit hours to get quality points. Sum all quality points and divide by total credit hours. For example: A (4.0) in a 3-credit class = 12 quality points. Total quality points / total credits = GPA.

A GPA above 3.0 is generally considered good. Above 3.5 is very good, and above 3.7 is excellent. For graduate school admission, most programs look for 3.0+ with competitive programs expecting 3.5+.

Most US colleges use the 4.0 scale, though some use variations (e.g., awarding 4.3 for A+). Some international universities use different scales entirely — 10-point in India, 7-point in Denmark, or percentage-based systems.
