Work days are Monday through Friday. Saturdays and Sundays are excluded. Public holidays are not removed automatically because they differ by country, state, and employer.

Calendar days include every day of the week. Work days only include weekdays, so the number is lower whenever the range includes weekends—common for project timelines quoted in working days.

Subtract known holidays that fall on weekdays manually, or shorten your end date if a holiday sits inside the range. For strict compliance, cross-check with an official holiday calendar for your jurisdiction.
